Salisbury Square Development

Another landmark project for TAL, one of the largest under construction in London and commissioned by the City of London Authority. Comprising 4 separate buildings with the Courts building fronting Fleet Street to the North. 18 new law courts, a new City of London Police HQ , a new Commercial Building and a Listed Building.  TAL is engaged to manage the design and delivery of 25 Passenger lifts and 4 Platform Lifts, a complex major project across the four buildings with completion targeted in September 2026

2 Trafalgar Way

Located close to Canary Wharf, this iconic project consists of three towers rising 28, 36 and 46 storeys. TAL is working closely with Midgard to deliver a diverse mixture of 20 lifts on site with speeds up to 5 m/s. The building is primarily student accommodation but has residential apartments, commercial office space and retail. The construction of the main tower involves the use of jump lift technology to maximise the benefit of using completed lifts to safely and efficiently transport construction personnel and materials throughout the building.

 

Ferry Island, Tottenham Hale

This exciting development, being built by Midgard for Related Argent, is located in the heart of Tottenham Hale. Consisting of 3 interlinked buildings of varying heights served by 10 lifts rising to a maximum of 40 storeys and running at up to 3m/s. A mix of residential and retail, TAL has been working since original lift order placement, guiding the team through a complex design phase and into lift manufacture. Installation is due to commence in Jan 2025 and TAL is looking forward to managing the installation and commissioning of the lifts to a successful completion. 

Sparkle Street, Manchester

In an exciting new twist, TAL was engaged to write a full VT specification for the provision of the 4 lifts on this iconic 28 storey residential tower in the heart of Manchester. On completion of the specification, TAL was also appointed to evaluate tender returns, manage the design process and, in the future, to manage the installation and commissioning of the lifts. A real 'cradle to grave' project for TAL that demonstrates the full range of services we are able to provide.

Gorton Street, Salford

Another exciting residential development in the booming areas around Manchester, this 41 storey project consists of 4 Fire-fighting/Evacuation lifts, installed in split shafts. TAL has been engaged early to provide lift consultancy services and operational support, to ensure an efficient and high quality project for the residents of this iconic building.

Beorma, Birmingham

Transforming the skyline of Birmingham and dwarfing the nearby Bullring Centre, this beautiful building is currently under construction with completion planned for early 2026. TAL is providing advice and support on the design and installation of the 8 lifts on this project, running to a maximum speed of 3m/s and a maximum rise of 19 storeys. This building will provide significant residential and commercial space to the area and is a key part of the regeneration of  Birmingham city centre.

40 Leadenhall Street

40 Leadenhall Street is an office-led development in the City of London and was one of the largest sites under construction in London for several years, finally completing in 2024. Located in the Financial district, this fabulous high tech and high specification development has one of the largest glass beam ceilings in Europe and the footprint and ground floor reception and common area spans all the way from Fenchurch Street to Leadehall. Turnstile banks provide access to the Ground floor space. The internal building finishes include towering sculptural architectural elements that are both striking and inspiring.  The project included 35 new lifts and 5 new escalators, with two banks of double deck high rise and low rise high speed gearless lifts with very high end finishes and complex interfaces. TAL managed and delivered the VT package over several years on this superb landmark project.

Londons' oldest power station located in Chelsea was originally built in 1902 and provided power to the London Underground until 1985. TAL was appointed to support the delivery of the main install phase of the lifts during the redevelopment of the main building. This saw 24 x MRL lifts delivered to a high standard and on programme.

AZ Amenities Hub, Cambridge

Following the successful completion of the £1BN R&D building for the same client, TAL was again engaged to deliver this latest building on the Cambridge campus – the 4 storey Amenities Hub. Containing a creche, gym, bar, café and networking areas for the campus employees, the 4 lifts in the building were delivered ahead of schedule and to a quality singled out for commendation by the Client when the building opened. It completed in 2024.

UCL Marshgate

34,000 sq ft of Education space, UCL Marshgate is prominently positioned by the waterfront in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at Stratford in London. Part of the UCL East campus, the building is home to new degree programmes, academic centres and innovative research.  TAL managed the design and installation of 15 x MRL lifts and 4  x escalators. The project completed in 2023 and this year received a notable Construction Industry award in recognition of the design and superb quality throughout.

Kings Cross Triangle

The Triangle Site is a mixed used development located to the north east of King’s Cross. The first buildings developed were W1 and W2. TAL was engaged to provide consultant project management services and support to deliver this fine project in an exciting and iconic area of urban regeneration.  The Project completed successfully in 2023.

One Thames City is a major mixed use development in Vauxhall SW8, comprising 12 buildings with a trio of iconic towers ranging from 37 to 53 storeys. TAL was engaged initially to trouble shoot and resolve key VT project delivery issues in two of the high rise towers, interrogating the facts and implementing a clear recovery plan, which involved hands-on driving of actions with the supplier. Following successful intervention in the towers, the role was then extended to include other VT supply challenges in the same development, also delivered successfully. Completed in 2023, TAL performance on this project led to a strong and expanding relationship with Midgard that continues on today.

LSE Centre Building 

The new LSE landmark building for staff, students and alumni  is now completed and open, designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and delivered by Mace. An interesting assignment, TAL provided the Mace team with data and a means to measure and track the lift contractor performance and project completion status in the critical completion phase.  This intervention contributed to a successful completion of the project.

Astra Zeneca, Cambridge 

This impressive bio-science facility is one of Astra Zeneca's three R&D centres in the world, built to find cures and provide life-changing medicines, redefining the medical landscape with its cutting edge facilities.  The installation and completion of 13 x MRL lifts with multiple complex interfaces was project managed by TAL over several years and this was our first project, which began in 2019, so still close to our hearts. During our engagement, TAL also undertook an MEP Quality role overseeing 23 other MEP trades.
